Winter SWAC 2026
We had a fun and lively group of friends for Supper With a Cause on January 29th, 2026, at Harvest at The Masonic. The evening’s cause was to raise funds for the operational expenses during McKinney Roots’ move to Gray Branch Parkland. We began the evening with WaterBoy Farms Beef meatballs paired with a refreshing winter cocktail and greeted by Rick Wells, Foundation President, and Chef Andrea Shackelford, Seed Project Foundation Board of Directors, to tell us about the evening’s menu.
The crowd was inspired by the presentation about McKinney Roots’ move to Gray Branch Parkland and future plans for feeding the food insecure in Collin County. They learned about the planned expansion of McKinney Roots’ education programs, increased food production, and partnership with the City of McKinney Parks Department.
Artist of the quarter is Jane Semple-Umsted, descendent of two Choctaw Chiefs. Jane’s work radiates the spirit of her Native American heritage.
